Well, for starters, the word “kaizen” is a Japanese for “improvement” or “change for the better.” This philosophy can be applied to just about any workplace: engineering, manufacturing, even customer service and therapy professions. When put into place, it can assist in changing the workplace into an evironment where all parets of the system are continuously improved and involves all members of the system from CEO down to those at the manufacturing plant. The kaizen process focuses on improving every process and removing “waste;” that is, extra work, excessive procedures, and cumbersome ways of going about things.
